A Group Financial Controller role leading management and financial reporting in a PE‑backed services business, managing a team of circa 8. Hands‑on position with responsibility for audit, regulatory reporting, and financial control in a fast‑growing environment.
Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the group finance function, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
* Oversee month‑end close, consolidations, and performance analysis across entities
* Manage audit processes and act as the key contact for external auditors
* Ensure compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory reporting requirements
* Drive improvements in financial controls, processes, and systems
* Partner with senior stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision‑making
* Review sensitive accounting areas (e.g. payroll, bonuses, cash management)
* Support finance transformation and change projects across the business
Qualifications
* Fully qualified accountant (ideally ACA) with strong technical grounding across both management and statutory reporting
* Proven leader with experience managing and developing teams in a fast‑paced environment
* Confident operating in a hands‑on, detail‑focused role with ownership of key financial processes
* Comfortable in a PE‑backed or high‑growth business with evolving priorities and tight deadlines
* Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner senior leadership
* Experience in regulated environments (FCA or similar) would be advantageous
* Proactive, resilient, and able to bring structure to a sometimes complex or changing business
