We are Richmond Rugby – “Rugby’s Original”. Located just five minutes from Richmond Town Centre, we boast a proud heritage in both the men’s and women’s game with 27 teams, and a membership base of 3,000 players, friends, and fans.
We've been based at The Richmond Athletic Ground for 135 years. Our venue hosts a diverse array of events, from major sporting festivals to corporate events, international rugby hospitality and a big annual fireworks display.
With our Men’s 1st XV promoted to the Champ and our Women’s team reaching the Championship playoff final, Richmond Rugby is thriving on the pitch. Off the pitch, our venue business continues to grow rapidly, building on a strong reputation for delivering high-quality events and experiences year-round.
As we embark on the next chapter of our history, we are looking for a talented Venue Sales Executive to join the team.
JOB PURPOSE:To convert all venue enquiries to maximise sales revenues and profitable income, in order to ensure the business achieves its sales targets. Working with the Commercial Manager and the Marketing team to promote the club facilities and to ensure effective handover to delivery teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* To proactively drive sales of meetings and events for the venue and convert incoming enquiries into profitable events, in order to exceed sales targets.
* To achieve specific performance targets and KPI’s to maximise revenue.
* Achieve profit growth by handling incoming enquiries effectively, qualify them, maximising event returns, upselling and managing key clients effectively.
* Maximise event profitability wherever possible.
* To proactively sell to all prospective customers, by researching them and using conversion tactics to win new business.
* To participate in and host client site visits and meetings.
* Understand and communicate to relevant teams, all aspects of the event requirements as part of the sales process, in order that any operational constraints are considered.
* To ensure the effective management of the enquiries, including client communication regarding their booking, ensuring all details are up-to-date and effectively communication to all departments as required, throughout the sales process.
* Take event to contract signature, ensuring effective handover to the events delivery team.
* Work with the finance and events team to ensure event payment and contact clients before the event date where necessary to ensure payments are received.
* To work with the commercial team to organise and host business networking events and sponsorship events for our club sponsors, local businesses and existing and prospective clients.
* Working closely with the delivery teams to conduct post-event review meetings.
* To work event days where required.
* To operate in ways that mean you are a recognisable role model for the business, upholding values and behaviours at all times.
* To comply at all times with Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices in accordance with current legislation.
