Overview
Hours: Zero hour contract. You are a people‑person who enjoys talking with anyone and wants to finish work knowing you have made a real difference to someone’s life. As a Care Worker with Housing 21 you will work within a supportive team and support residents who live independently in their own apartments. Residents have access to communal lounges, gardens, cafés, bistros and hair salons. You will build strong, lasting relationships with both residents and colleagues and become a valued member of the Extra Care family.
Responsibilities
* Support residents with domestic tasks such as laundry, shopping, cleaning and financial transactions, including paying bills.
* Prepare meals, drinks and snacks as required.
* Encourage and enable residents to follow agreed care plans.
* Assist with morning routines, personal care (washing, bathing, dressing), evening routines, and medication administration.
* Ensure resident wellbeing is central to the service, going the extra mile to support them, and keep managers and key agencies informed of progress.
Qualifications and Skills
* Kind, friendly and reliable with a genuine desire to help people.
* Good written and verbal English communication skills.
* Commitment to undertake necessary further training and acquire relevant qualifications.
* Ability to use initiative, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate flexibility.
* No prior experience or qualifications required; experience caring for family or friends is a strong plus.
