Dotted Line To: Group Head of Compliance
Location: Based at Flexipol Haslingden, covering all Flexipol sites (Hull, Haslingden, Dunstable)
Travel: As required to Flexipol sites in the UK
Role Purpose
To lead, manage and continually improve the Quality Management System (QMS) and compliance activities across all Flexipol sites. The role ensures compliance with BRCGS Packaging Materials standards, relevant ISO standards, customer requirements and regulatory obligations. This position will drive quality improvements to support operational excellence (OpEx) and deliver sustained customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Quality & Compliance Management
* Develop, implement and maintain the Flexipol QMS to ensure compliance with BRCGS, ISO standards and customer requirements.
* Lead site preparation for customer, third‑party and regulatory audits; act as main point of contact during audits.
* Ensure all non‑conformances are effectively investigated, with root causes identified and robust corrective actions implemented.
Auditing & Standards
* Plan and deliver internal audit schedules for all sites to ensure continual compliance and readiness for external assessments.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of BRCGS Packaging Materials standard, ISO 9001 and other applicable standards.
* Support sites in closing out audit actions and driving a culture of proactive compliance.
Continuous Improvement
* Analyse quality data, monitor trends and report on key quality metrics to identify areas for improvement.
* Facilitate and lead quality improvement initiatives aligned with OpEx, delivering measurable improvements in product quality and process capability.
* Share best practices and ensure standardisation of processes and procedures across sites.
People Development
* Deliver training and coaching to site teams on quality standards, procedures and food safety requirements.
* Support the development of site‑based quality teams to build knowledge, capability and a quality‑first culture.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Collaborate closely with the Technical Director and site leadership teams to align quality and compliance objectives with wider business strategy.
* Work with the Group Head of Compliance to ensure Flexipol’s activities are aligned with group policies and objectives.
* Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and certification bodies to maintain confidence in Flexipol’s quality performance.
Travel
* Visit all Flexipol sites (Hull, Haslingden, Dunstable) as required to provide onsite support, audits, training and leadership.
Key Requirements
* Proven experience in a quality management role within food packaging, manufacturing or a related industry.
* In‑depth working knowledge of BRCGS Packaging Materials standard.
* Sound understanding of ISO 9001, 45001, 14001 and other relevant quality standards.
* Strong auditing skills and experience managing internal and external audits.
* Analytical mindset, with ability to interpret quality data and implement improvement actions.
* Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
* Able to work independently and travel to multiple sites as needed.

Internal: Site Managers, Technical Managers, Quality Teams, Production Teams, Group Head of Compliance, Technical Director.
External: Customers, Certification Bodies, Regulatory Inspectors, Suppliers.
