This is an excellentopportunity to begin or develop a career in the healthcare technical servicessector, supporting the vital work of the NHS.As a TechnicalAssistant, you'll play a key role in theBed Maintenance Service, helpingensure that all hospital beds and associated equipment are safe, clean, andready for use — directly contributing to patient comfort and care.Working alongside ourexperienced Biomedical and Bed Technicians, you will assist withequipmentmaintenance, inspection, cleaning, and data entry, as well as help coordinatethecollection, movement, and return of beds and related equipmentacrosshospital departments.This hybrid technicaland logistical role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work,problem-solving, and being part of a fast-paced, supportive environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDaily corridor walk of entire trust to collect service bedsClean collected service beds ready for engineers to service/ repairWard walks of entire trust to search for service beds place tags on beds and thenCommunicate with ward staff for the return of device to bed store (this can include but not always, delivering in service bed to ward to speed process up and removal of un service bed and then clean it in bed store, No patient contact is involved )Assist engineers with workload if required ( check over of equipment in service if large build up in workshop to allow quick re distribution of devicesSupport technicians with planned and corrective maintenance tasks on hospital beds and related equipment (training provided).Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, Manual Handling, and infection prevention regulations.Above is the standard dailyactivities we will be recruiting for, there will be opportunity forprogression and practical service/Maintenance work on beds and mattress pumps,with a view to a potential apprenticeship should applicant be suitable, all ofwhich will be secondary to main daily activities.About YouWe're looking forsomeone who is:Organised, proactive, and willing to learn new technical skills.Able to work effectively as part of a busy team.Committed to quality, safety, and excellent service delivery.A good communicator with a positive, customer-focused attitude.Comfortable with physical activity, such as moving and handling hospital equipment (training provided).Full UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).No prior technical experience is required —full training will be providedby MTS Health to equip you with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in this role.About MTS HealthMTS Health Limited isa trusted medical equipment management specialist, supporting NHS Trusts acrossthe UK with maintenance, compliance, and lifecycle management services.
