This is a high-impact role requiring strong technical expertise, hands‑on leadership and the ability to provide stability during a critical audit and reporting period.The role will lead a team of seven direct reports and oversee broad responsibility across both financial control and commercial finance, including Commercial Finance, FP&A, Tax and Treasury.A key priority will be supporting the business through an ongoing and complex audit process, requiring strong technical accounting capability and confident stakeholder management to drive the process and manage external auditors effectively.Following completion of the audit, the role will continue to provide leadership across the finance function, with particular focus on strengthening technical accounting and statutory reporting capability while maintaining oversight of commercial finance and core financial operations.Key RequirementsAvailable to start by early JuneGroup Financial Controller or Finance Director level experienceStrong technical accounting expertise across statutory reporting, audit and financial controlsExperience operating in businesses with £500m+ turnoverRetail or FMCG experience preferredStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsHigh emotional intelligence and ability to lead and support teams through change
