Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and LAC Coordinator
Position within E-ACT Royton & Crompton Academy. The role is a key safeguarding and pastoral position, supporting the safeguarding lead, promoting the wellbeing of students and championing the progress of looked‑after and previously looked‑after children.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns when the DSL is unavailable.
* Support the DSL in making referrals to Children’s Social Care, Early Help or other agencies.
* Work directly with vulnerable students to provide early intervention and pastoral support.
* Monitor academic progress and attainment of LAC students.
* Lead the creation, review and quality assurance of Personal Education Plans (PEPs).
Qualifications and Skills
* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths.
* Level 3 Safeguarding Training (DSL/DDSL level).
* Ability to manage high volumes of confidential information.
* Understanding of systems such as Early Help, Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP).
* Ability to act as a strong advocate for vulnerable and LAC students.
* Manage emotionally demanding work.
