Interim Financial Controller

Interim – 3months +
We’ve partnered exclusively with our client in their search for an experienced Interim Financial Controller. This incumbent will provide immediate support following a recent finance system implementation. This is a hands-on role focused on stabilising operations, clearing backlog, and ensuring the new system is configured correctly while day-to-day finance activities continue seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and optimise Sage system configuration for accurate reporting and operational efficiency.
2. Oversee data migration and ensure integrity of financial information.
3. Clear backlog of transactions and reporting tasks created during system implementation.
4. Provide leadership and guidance to the finance team, setting priorities and restoring structure.
5. Manage month-end and year-end close processes across all group entities.
6. Prepare consolidated financial statements and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (IFRS/UK GAAP).
7. Oversee statutory accounts and liaise with external auditors.
8. Ensure robust financial controls and governance across the group.
9. Monitor cash flow, working capital, and support treasury activities.
10. Deliver accurate management reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
11. Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the group.
12. Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insight and strategic support.
13. Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
14. Ensure tax compliance and coordinate with external advisors where necessary.
15. Act as key point of contact for finance-related queries across the business.
Skills & Qualifications:
16. Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
17. Proven experience as a Group Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
18. Must have experience with the implementation of Sage
19. Proven ability to lead and support
20. Happy to get hands on involved.
21. Strong technical accounting skills and ability to manage complex data migration.
