A new and exciting opportunity to join a growing 3D surgical planning and printing service across Manchester. The role focuses on designing and developing surgical devices/guides and implants for complex cranio‑maxillofacial and other specialties.
Key Responsibilities
Design and manufacture patient‑specific deep‑buried implants for oncology, trauma and congenital specialties.
Plan surgical procedures using specialist 3D software for highly complex reconstructive surgery.
Collaborate with surgeons and clinicians on a daily basis, attending planning sessions and operating theatres.
Manage own 3D planning workloads, prioritise work according to urgency and need.
Maintain and calibrate specialist 3D printing equipment, contribute to printer maintenance and software licence configuration.
* CMF implant planning – zygomatic, restorative, facial prosthetic
* Design PSI for oncology, trauma and congenital specialities
* Create complex anatomical diagnostic modelling for various specialties
Implement Medical Device Regulation requirements, ensuring laboratory meets required standards.
Qualifications
Experienced biomedical 3D design engineer with excellent organisational skills, problem solving capabilities and ability to meet challenging deadlines.
Adaptable to service needs and able to work within a busy multidisciplinary team.
Proven experience in 3D surgical planning, 3D printing, and design of patient‑specific implants.
