The Role The Psychological Therapies Team (PTT) exists to address the psychological needs of adults residing in the Lanarkshire area. As well as providing clinical assessment, formulation and intervention, the service has responsibilities for consultation, teaching and supervision. This role offers an opportunity to join Airdrie / Coatbridge PTT at consultant level on a permanent basis to work alongside the existing Lead Consultant. As well as carrying a clinical caseload appropriate to the demands of the role, the post holder will be required to take a leadership role within the team and will have responsibility for the operational management and professional leadership of Airdrie / Coatbridge PTT. The post-holder will be required to lead on service development and to represent the PTT in meetings at various levels. A key part of the role will be in relation to multidisciplinary working; the post-holder will be required to support workforce development in relation to multidisciplinary working and to embed value-based and trauma-informed practice. I n addition to the Airdrie / Coatbridge Lead Consultant post, the service is also recruiting to a 12 month part-time fixed term Lead Consultant post within Wishaw PTT (18.5hrs). What we'll need you to bring The post holder is required to hold a Doctorate in Clinical / Counselling Psychology or equivalent recognised by the British Psychological Society and registered with the HPC. The post holder is required to have developed a large, theoretical knowledge base about the various psychological models that can be utilised to assess, formulate and treat psychological / mental health problems in individuals across the life span. The post holder is required to continue to keep up to date with research developments in the field and to inform and update their clinical practice accordingly. In order to keep abreast of those research developments that will inform clinical practice the post holder will highlight training requirements including budgetary considerations to HOP - AMH. Doctoral level knowledge of research methodology, research design and complex data analysis as practiced within the clinical fields of Psychology. Required to take personal responsibility for Continuing Professional Development (formal and informal post graduate training, additional clinical experience etc.) in the context of: Current British Psychological Society and Health Professional Council’s Guidelines. Required to pursue understanding and knowledge in wider professional issues at national levels relevant to Clinical / Counselling Psychology. Required to have knowledge of, and adhere to the British Psychological Society’s Professional Practice Guidelines and the Divisions of Clinical and Counselling Psychology Code of Conduct and relevant Health Professional Council’s Guidelines To maintain up to date knowledge of legislation, national and local policies and issues in relation to patient / client group and mental health. Further post graduate training in supervision of Trainee Clinical / Counselling Psychologists and Clinical Associates in Applied Psychology. To be an Accredited Supervisor. Ability to teach and train others using a variety of complex multi-media materials suitable for presentations within public, professional and academic settings. Knowledge around theory and practise of leadership and management. Knowledge and experience of policy design and implementation of Service planning. Requirement for a range of non-clinical skills including computer skills, statistical knowledge and abilities. Contract type Permanent Part Time 14.8hours Please note this is a fixed term post for 12 months.
