Role: Quality Assurance ManagerLocation: Bishop's StortfordSalary: £50,000+Working Hours: Monday to FridayAbout the CompanyOur client is a UK based brand making premium chilled cheesecakes and chocolate puddings. They are known for producing high quality desserts for major retailers and are continuing to grow within the food manufacturing sector.SummaryThe Quality Assurance Manager will work alongside the Quality and Operations teams to ensure all products are safe, legal, compliant and of the highest quality. This role will lead the site Quality function, manage the QA team and drive standards across all processes.Key ResponsibilitiesWork in partnership with Operations to ensure safety, legality and quality standards are metManage and maintain all factory technical procedures and processes linked to raw material qualityLead and support the Quality Auditors and Quality Assistant to ensure consistency and high standardsMake key manufacturing decisions relating to quality and food safetyLead and present monthly quality meetingsEnsure non conforming product is identified, controlled and reportedOversee taste panels and finished product assessmentsSupport product launches, data tracking and continuous improvement initiativesMaintain responsibility for site pest control and audit readinessEnsure completion of hygiene, GMP, fabrication and calibration audits through the QA teamManage microbiological sampling, swabbing and testing programmesConduct traceability exercises and support complaint investigationsDrive improvements in product quality and cost efficiencySite StandardsEnsure all staff follow hygiene and dress standardsMonitor site compliance and maintenance actionsSupport daily troubleshooting and operational challengesAssist with internal and external projects as requiredFinished Product AssessmentEnsure product sampling is completed throughout production runsReview results against specifications and take action where requiredSupport retail release processesRequirementsPrevious experience in a Quality Management role within food manufacturingStrong understanding of food safety systems including HACCPGood communication skills with the ability to influence teamsHigh attention to detail and strong organisational skillsComputer literate and numerateFood related qualification preferredThe PersonProactive and confident in decision makingPassionate about quality and continuous improvementAble to work to deadlines and manage prioritiesComfortable working across a factory environmentThis is an excellent opportunity to join a well established and growing food manufacturing business where you can make a real impact on product quality and site performance.TPBN1_UKTJ
