Trainee CNC Operator About the Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Trainee CNC Setter/Operator to join a well-established precision engineering company based in Andover. This position is ideal for someone at the beginning of their engineering career, or someone with a practical/mechanical background looking to develop their CNC skills in a supportive and high-tech environment. The company specialises in producing high-quality, low-volume components for industries such as motorsport, automotive, defence, and electronics. You will be trained to operate and eventually set CNC machines, working with experienced engineers and using state-of-the-art equipment. Key Responsibilities (training provided): Learn to operate horizontal and vertical CNC machining centres, including controls such as Mazak, Heidenhain, and Fanuc Support in setting up machines, gradually taking on more responsibility under supervision Carry out visual and basic dimensional checks to ensure parts meet quality standards Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets Accurately record job data on works orders and internal systems Maintain a clean and safe working environment Return drawings, tools and fixtures to designated areas after use Support continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor What they're Looking For: A keen interest in engineering or manufacturing Any hands-on experience (through college, previous employment, or hobbies) is a plus Good attention to detail and eagerness to learn new skills Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team Basic understanding of technical drawings and measurements would be beneficial An Engineering Level 3 qualification (e.g. BTEC, HNC) is desirable but not essential Benefits: 24 days' holiday plus Bank Holidays Regular overtime available On-site parking PPE and uniform provided free of charge Bonus referral scheme Annual health surveillance Training and development opportunities to support career progression Working Hours: 39 hours per week (Monday to Friday), with additional hours/overtime available if required.
