Team Leader – 35 hours per week, Tarbock Green – Temp for 12 months
This role is a temporary 12‑month position based in Tarbock Green. You will lead and develop a team of support workers to deliver person‑centred services.
Responsibilities
* Lead and direct a team in developing and delivering person‑centred service.
* Manage resources to successfully deliver service user and contract outcomes.
* Develop staff skills and knowledge in delivering high‑quality services designed to meet individual needs.
* Apply the tools of person‑centred planning, review and team development.
* Embed a quality assurance framework at a service level.
Principal Accountabilities
* Follow the principles of person‑centred approaches in all areas of operation.
* Be responsible for assessment, planning, monitoring and reviewing of individual support.
* Ensure appropriate information is captured, reported and analysed.
* Lead and manage staff to ensure highest levels of performance and standards.
* Ensure staff skills, gifts, qualities and strengths are put to best use.
* Manage the recruitment, co‑ordination and deployment of staff resources.
* Develop and maintain a customer‑focussed ethos and excellent working relationships with other professionals.
* Provide on‑the‑job coaching, regular supervisions and appraisals.
* Identify and meet staff training and development needs.
* Organise and facilitate positive and productive team meetings.
* Promote good practice and nurture community connections.
* Ensure practice is in line with company policy, procedure and legislation.
* Ensure service delivery meets required quality standards and evidence quality service delivery.
* Resolve internal and external reportables events appropriately.
* Assist the Area Manager in effective resource management.
Essential Criteria
Experience
* Significant experience in person‑centred planning and review.
* Significant experience in supporting people with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
* Significant experience in people management.
* Experience in leading and managing a staff team and in undertaking staff supervisions and appraisal.
* Experience of partnership working, managing resources within budget and using IT systems for service management.
Skills & Knowledge
* Knowledge of equality and anti‑discriminatory practices.
* Excellent time‑management and ability to plan and prioritise a complex workload.
* Ability to inspire and drive person‑centred principles and practices.
* Ability to assess, plan and monitor care and support to achieve individual outcomes.
* Skill in engaging with service users, families and carers to develop positive relationships.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Deep understanding of the needs of people with mental health or learning disabilities.
* Leadership and team management capability.
* Proficiency with person‑centred tools, policy and procedure application, initiative, self‑motivation and resourcefulness.
* Effective resource management and ICT skills for reporting and communication.
Qualifications & Training
* NVQ3 qualification in management or care (or equivalent) or willingness to complete within a set time period.
* Training in person‑centred practices (planning, review, team development).
Other
* Willingness to work flexible hours, on‑call and 7 days a week including unsocial hours and weekends.
