Lead AWS Cloud Architect London / Reading (Hybrid) 6 Month Contract £(Apply online only)/day (Inside IR35) Lead AWS Cloud Architect needed with extensive AWS Cloud and proven Government agencies project experience. 6 Month Contract based in London and Reading (Hybrid). Hybrid Working - 1 day/week working on-site in either London or Reading, and 4 days/week working remotely (WFH). A chance to work with a leading global IT and Digital transformation business specialising in Government projects. Starting 1st week in January 2026, and looking to interview/offer by 19 December. Key skills, experience tasks will include: Must have extensive AWS Cloud architecture expertise gained within Government regulated sectors, and across all phases from design to implementation. Acting as the Technical Authority and Design Owner for the AWS cloud migration modernisation programme. Defining the end-to-end AWS cloud strategy, Target Architecture (HLD/LLD), shaping Landing Zone architecture, and overseeing all technical designs and implementation across AWS infrastructure, security, identity, networking, migration planning EUC (Amazon WorkSpaces / Citrix modernisation). Deep knowledge of: AWS Organisations, Control Tower, EUC, Amazon WorkSpaces, IAM, VPC, AppStream, FSLogix, AWS MGN, Terraform/CloudFormation, KMS, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, Entra ID. Key Deliverables: strong leadership, strategy, governance, stakeholder management, EUC / Amazon Workspaces, stage-gate assurance, Security/Identity/MFA/Compliance, and BAU transition experience. Ensuring all architecture decisions are aligned to the functional, non-functional, financial, and security requirements, including resilience, Conditional Access, CIS/NCSC compliance cost efficiency. Providing technical governance across all phases: Discovery, Strategy, Design, Landing Zone Build, Amazon WorkSpaces deployment, Pilot/Full Migration, implementation BAU transition. AWS Cloud certifications preferred -eg- AWS Solutions Architect (Professional), AWS Security, and AWS Networking. Must be eligible to undergo the SC Security Clearance vetting process
