Whether you are a recent graduate, have a property diploma, or are already on your journey towards chartership, we will provide the hands-on experience and dedicated mentorship you need to achieve your goal of becoming a fully qualified RICS Chartered Surveyor. You will gain invaluable experience across a varied public sector portfolio, making a real contribution from day one.

What You Will Learn and Achieve:

Working closely with our team of property professionals under the guidance of the Principal Estates Manager, you will develop a comprehensive skill set by:

* Managing Key Negotiations: You will be actively involved in a wide range of property transactions, including lease renewals, rent reviews, new lettings, acquisitions, and disposals.
* Developing Your Professional Expertise: You will provide advice on various estate management matters, building the confidence and competence required for your professional assessments.
* Building Professional Relationships: You will act on behalf of the Council, liaising with tenants, developers, agents, and internal departments, honing your communication and negotiation skills.

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for an ambitious individual who is passionate about property and eager to learn. You will be:

* Educated in Property: Holding an undergraduate degree in a property discipline or an RICS-accredited postgraduate diploma.
* Aspiring to Chartership: Ideally, you will be working towards or close to achieving full RICS membership. Your ambition is your greatest asset.
* A Proactive Team Player: Ready to contribute ideas and support your colleagues in a collaborative environment.
* A Confident Communicator: You possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle queries professionally.
* Digitally Literate: Proficient in using standard IT software, including the Microsoft Office suite.

Office working hours are 8.30 am - 5.00 pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30 am - 4.30 pm on Friday; however, the Council operates a flexi-time system around these times.
