Overview

IUC/111 Health Advisor Rotherham

Recruiting for a training course February 2026. Interviews will be held at our Wakefield Call Centre.

If you are looking for a job that makes a difference to our patients, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

As a health adviser, you are the patients first point of contact, using your skills, alongside specialist computer software, to assess their symptoms and give them the help and reassurance they need. 111 Health Advisors are highly trained to assess and negotiate to ensure the best patient care and outcome - no two calls will be the same. We work around the clock receiving 111 calls from patients who need our help.

The role involves dealing with a wide variety of patients, including some very emotional situations. You will be expected to handle calls in a compassionate, professional way and use strong customer service skills to convey complex and sensitive information to ensure the right level of care for our patients.

Additional duties include coaching lesser experienced staff and carrying out tasks to support Team Leaders in the call centres. The role may involve working six out of eight public holidays and three weekends out of five, and offers a range of full and part-time rotas.

Salary, benefits and progression

Competitive base salary starting at £24,937 rising to £26,598 after two years (per annum, pro rata for part time employees). In addition, enhanced payments for unsocial hours worked in the evenings and weekends.

After 18 months as a band 3 Health Advisor, you will automatically progress to a band 4 Enhanced Health Advisor, subject to meeting the required criteria.

We can offer a range of full and part-time rotas. There is a requirement to work six out of eight public holidays (pro rata depending on rota) as well as three weekends out of five.

You will receive comprehensive, paid training which will enable you to fully support our patients. The training is ten weeks full time. You will commence your role on a training contract and upon successful completion of your training, you will be issued a permanent contract.

We offer NHS Pension and other NHS money saving benefits, access to discounts in over 200 stores, days outs and restaurants by signing up to a Blue Light card.
