Were keen to talk with qualified engineers regarding an exciting Contracts Engineer position that has recently become available. Our principal consultant Robin Thomas is hiring for a UK based manufacturer of precision-engineered pumps and associated systems, serving customers all around the globe.
As a Contracts Engineer, youll provide technical support, coordinating repair jobs from enquiry through to job completion. Working across all industries, youll develop scopes of work and cost estimates for all enquiries including the repair, overhaul, and upgrade of various pumps, valves & services of rotating equipment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Submit quotations within agreed timescales
* Ensure orders are correctly entered into the SAP system once received, ensuring SAP is updated daily
* Produce accurate cost calculations and quotations for manufacture, repair or servicing of components
* Liaise with other departments on available capacity, raw material, and sub-contract requirements
* Frequent contact with clients to clarify tender requirements and negotiation on cost or delivery
* Achievement of department KPIs
* Negotiate price and delivery with vendors, ensuring quality, delivery and cost requirements are met
* Regularly communicate with sales on status of repair orders
* Interact directly with customers to provide repair status
* Work with workshop personnel, sales, engineering and customers to define repair and scheduling requirements
* Technical responses to customers / vendors when necessary
* Technical decisions on component refurbishments / repairs
Skills & Experience
* Mechanical Craft Qualification to NVQ level 3 or equivalent
* BTEC qualification in Engineering
* Engineering background with experience of services, repair, and maintenance of pumps, valves, compressors & rotating Equipment
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent presentation and negotiating skills
* Highly numerate with excellent command of Microsoft office especially Excel, PowerPoint
* Experience of using SAP would be of beneficial
