Overall Purpose of Role
To carry out Radiographic Testing (RT) and associated control processes in line with internal procedures, customer specifications, and industry acceptance standards, ensuring high-quality and compliant inspection outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform radiographic testing on metallic and non-metallic components, weldments, fabrications, and structures using approved techniques and procedures.
* Ensure all inspections meet customer and company quality standards.
* Maintain effective communication with the Operations Manager and Team Leader regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
* Work in full compliance with all company, customer, and legislative requirements relating to both conventional and advanced NDT techniques.
* Verify that all equipment and consumables are within calibration prior to use; report any non-conformances.
* Produce clear and accurate inspection reports in line with Applus+ quality procedures and reporting standards.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
* Complete timesheets and associated documentation accurately and on time.
* Assist in the training and mentoring of less experienced team members.
* Ensure all required training is completed within defined timeframes and provide certification documentation as required.
* Adhere to Inspector Declaration requirements, ensuring independence, impartiality, and integrity.
* Comply with Letter of Authorisation requirements, working strictly within the scope of approval.
* Carry out additional duties as directed by line management.
Qualifications & Experience
* NAS410 / EN4179 Radiographic Testing Level 2 certification
* PCN Level 2 considered for candidates with a genuine interest in transitioning into aerospace
* Documented evidence of training and on-the-job experience aligning with SNT‑TC‑1A and BS EN ISO 9712
* Experience in a fast-paced, highly regulated test house or laboratory environment
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications
* Digital Radiography (DR) experience
* Additional NDT certifications (PT, MT, UT)
* PCN / SNT Level 2 certification in other methods
* IOSH certification
* Understanding of Applus+ service offerings
