Role description
We are looking for an experienced Associate Mechanical Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team and play a key role in delivering one of our biggest data centre construction projects in Finland.
Location: you may be based 100% in Finland or you may need to travel internationally (11‑3 day rotations).
Accountabilities
Pre‑construction
* Work with the client and general contractor to create and establish the Master Project Schedule and Master Project Budget.
* Support contractor pre‑qualification, bid solicitation, bid analysis and provide recommendations.
* Assist in contract negotiations.
* Help the client and the client’s team identify, scope, buy‑out and schedule all owner‑direct vendors and consultants.
Construction
* Manage the general contractor and other directly contracted vendors on the ground.
* Coordinate value‑engineering efforts during the construction phase.
* Work with the client’s commercial and PCG teams to develop budget management and tracking.
* Liaise with the client’s schedule management team to provide schedule monitoring, tracking and analysis.
Close‑out / Fit‑up
* Initiate close‑out processes prior to project completion, typically two to three months in advance.
* Establish close‑out documentation requirements with the client’s document controller; collect and track receipt of all close‑out documents until completion, including warranties, as‑built drawings and O&M manuals.
* Assist with city and/or other authority final inspections and occupancy processes.
* Help the client schedule, coordinate and manage all owner‑direct vendors and consultants.
Qualifications & Experience
* An in‑depth understanding of large‑scale technical projects and construction techniques.
* Ability to manage technical disciplines.
* Experience working on data centre new‑build and refurbishment projects, preferably on hyperscale builds.
* Willingness to commit to significant international travel.
