The AI Strategy Team in Advanced Analytics focuses on understanding AI’s current and future impact on UK financial markets and consumers and supports firms that want to test and evaluate safe and responsible AI solutions in UK financial markets through the FCA’s AI Live Testing initiative. You’ll work with academics, financial institutions, and regulators—both domestic and international—to analyse AI's role and share insights across the FCA and beyond. You'll deepen your knowledge of AI regulation, deployment in financial services, and governance models to shape FCA’s strategy, policy, and digital transformation, as well as contribute to internal AI solutions.
This interdisciplinary role bridges regulation and technology, collaborating closely with Supervision, Policy, Legal, International, and Innovation teams. What will you be doing?
3. Collaborate closely with teams in Policy, Supervision, Innovation, Legal and International to enable safe and responsible as well as innovation-friendly deployment of AI by firms through the FCA’s new AI Live Testing initiative
4. Foster strong relationships across the domestic and international AI ecosystem, engaging empathetically with stakeholders to identify challenges in the use of AI in UK financial markets and explore areas where regulatory responses may be needed
5. Partner with colleagues at the Bank of England and the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (DRCF) to research and interpret market developments, sharing insights in a clear and constructive manner
6. Contribute to the FCA’s thought leadership on AI in financial markets through an inclusive, holistic lens—considering technical standards, assurance, and wider societal impacts
7. Provide supportive input to the FCA AI Programme Board and collaborate with teams developing the FCA’s own AI tools to ensure they align with our goals and values
8. Transform research and analysis into practical, meaningful outcomes by co-authoring external publications or facilitating workshops that promote learning and shared understanding of the impact AI will have on UK financial markets and consumers.
