Safety Management System (SMS) Manager (156jc) – St Athan
We are seeking a dependable, detail‑focused Safety Management System (SMS) Manager to join a growing technical team and support the Chief Management Manager (CMM) in maintaining the SMS, conducting audits and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company procedures and safety policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day management of the company SMS
* Generate Safety Action Group (SAG) material and host meetings
* Assist in creating and presenting the Safety Review Board (SRB) slide‑pack
* Assist with production and implementation of the Part 145 audit programme
* Assist with control of the company authorisation system
* Conduct safety investigations as required
* Daily administration and monitoring of the Occurrence Reporting System
* Report findings or concerns to the CMM, Accountable Manager or NP
* Promote the Safety Policy and SMS throughout the organisation
* Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessment and management
* Monitor and provide feedback on the organisation’s safety performance

Required Skills and Experience
* Experienced and competent investigator
* Detailed knowledge of EASA / CAA Part 145 regulations and their practical application
* Practical experience in a Part 145 environment
* Current safety training certificates (Human Factors, Fuel Tank Safety, Electrical Wiring Interconnecting Systems)
* Passport that permits travel to required locations
* Full, clean UK driving licence
* Eligibility to qualify for and hold a UK airside security pass
* Proficient IT skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
* Qualified auditor with experience in an aviation environment
* Detailed knowledge of Part 66 requirements
