Assistant Team Manager – Children & Young People Disabilities (Social Care) Salary: £45,830 – £51,130
Location: Hybrid Working (minimum 2 office days per week)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent

About the Role We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Team Manager to support the leadership of a Children and Young People Disabilities (CYPD) Social Work team.
This is a non-case holding leadership role where you will assist the Team Manager in supervising Social Workers, overseeing safeguarding practice and ensuring high-quality support is delivered to vulnerable children and families.
You will play a key part in improving outcomes for children, supporting practitioners, and ensuring safe and effective care planning.
You will also deputise for the Team Manager when required and act as the first point of professional support for your team.
Key Responsibilities
Line management and supervision of 3–4 Social Workers
Oversight of safeguarding practice and decision-making
Chairing strategy meetings, reviews and planning meetings
Supporting quality assurance of casework
Supporting staff development, performance and retention
Joint visits and court attendance when required
Partnership working with internal and external agencies
Supporting recruitment and induction of new staff
Ensuring care plans are effective and outcome-focused What We’re Looking For Essential:
Qualified Social Worker
Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience in Children’s Social Care
Strong experience in safeguarding, child protection and statutory work
Experience supporting or supervising Social Workers
Ability to make sound decisions in complex and high-risk situations
Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
Assistant Team Manager- CYPD JD… Desirable:
Practice Educator / Leadership training
Court work experience
Experience working within disability teams
Knowledge of Signs of Safety framework What You’ll Get
