We work across health, education and the wider community to empower children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), to build a more confident, positive, and healthy relationship with food.
We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Community Engagement Officer to help us grow our presence, strengthen our volunteer network, and inspire community fundraising and advocacy across the UK.

The part time role offers flexibility across working hours and location, with the option for home and office-based working, plus unique opportunities for networking and building relationships within the local area. It would suit a candidate who wants to make a real impact within the charity sector by playing a crucial role in the dynamic growth of our small charity and enhancing the profile of our unique organisation, which is looking to bring about systemic change to the lives of children with complex feeding challenges.

* Creative and energetic, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Passionate about people, community, and making a positive impact.
* Confident working independently and collaboratively as part of a small team.
* Has experience in community engagement, recruitment or fundraising.
What we offer
* A flexible, part-time role (15–20 hours/week) with hybrid working.
* Supportive team culture and regular 1:1 supervision.
* Opportunity to lead an exciting community-focused project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.
* Meaningful work that helps families and improves children’s lives.
About The Feeding Trust
The Feeding Trust is a Midlands-based charity, with a national reach. We are the only charity in the UK committed to reducing health and social inequalities for those affected by Paediatric Feeding Disorders (PFD) through advocacy, awareness raising, education, research and direct support.
PFD affects approximately 3% of children in the UK. This figure rises significantly for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with 50-80% of children with SEND, such as autism, experiencing serious challenges with feeding and mealtimes. For these children, learning to eat can be painful, difficult and scary, impacting nutrition, development, growth and mental health.
You will be joining a dedicated team of clinical staff, who work out of our charity office in North Worcestershire, plus a support team of admin, finance, HR and IT. The charity has a well-rounded and experienced Board, who are invested in growing an impactful and sustainable charity.
