Role Overview
Applications are welcomed for the post of Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) / Director of Medical Strategy & Partnerships. The post offers 5 PAs plus a responsibility allowance. The Director of Medical Strategy & Partnerships plays a pivotal role in the Chief Medical Officer's leadership team, supporting the delivery of the Trust's strategic goals including strategic planning of clinical services through partnership working. This is a key role in the Chief Medical Officer's leadership team. As a Deputy Chief Medical Officer, the holder of this post will work with the CMO and other DCMOs, and all DCMOs will be expected to support the entire CMO portfolio when required. The CMO will arrange for DCMOs to change portfolios as appropriate to facilitate delivery of team priorities, professional development and succession planning. Qualifications
* A medical practitioner
* Post graduate medical qualifications
* Evidence of continued professional development
* Unblemished registration with GMC, substantial clinical experience at consultant level
* Strong reputation as a clinician and clinical leader, with a proven track record of producing high quality results in the management and leadership of clinical services
* Experience in building organisational capabilities, including establishing a clear strategic vision and translation into successful outcomes
* Experience of managing clinical governance
* Evidence of continuing professional and managerial development, in-depth understanding of the complexity in providing secondary and tertiary healthcare
* A thorough grasp of the NHS, local and national health care strategies
* Strong personal alignment with Trust Values
* Enthusiastic and results-oriented
* Successful team leadership and motivation of others
* Innovation and vision, including an ability to build organisation capabilities, establishing a clear strategic vision and direction and translating this into successful outcomes
* A proven ability to plan strategically
