Job Title: Commissioning Service Engineer - HV/LV Switchgear
Location: London / South of England / Midlands — Travelling appointment role. You will perform installation, commissioning, modification and maintenance of electrical distribution equipment at UK and overseas locations, with 24/7 cover in a rotating shift pattern.

Responsibilities
* Supervise/perform activities on switchgear, transformers and related equipment (400 V – 33 kV) at UK, overseas and offshore locations.
* Off-load and install new panels, switchgear, and transformers.
* Commission electrical equipment and carry out wiring modifications and retrofit upgrades.
* Planned maintenance across the product range, from visual to intrusive tests.
* Partial discharge testing, thermal imaging, oil sampling, and related diagnostics.
* Systems testing, fault diagnosis, and installation of EAA sensors and required hardware.
* Maintain safe working practices: conduct site risk assessments and contribute to method statements.
* Document test results and produce site work reports; assist in formulating offers for site activities.
* Assist with works tests when necessary and contribute to customer training activities.
* Promote Schneider Electric service activities and identify potential business opportunities.
* Participate in the OnCall rota to provide 24/7 emergency support; supervise personnel onsite including team members and subcontractors.
* Liaise with installation/project managers to ensure project alignment.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Previous experience in installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of switchgear and related plant.
* Experience of working alone and as part of a team at UK, overseas and offshore locations.
* Customer-focused with a service orientation; willing to work at nuclear, military and offshore locations.
* Full driving licence.
* Strong knowledge of electrical safety for live HV networks; underpinning qualifications (e.g., Degree, HNC) or relevant experience.
* Good experience with High Voltage testing (415 V – 33 kV systems), CT magnetisation curves, and CT primary injection.
* Experience with Relay Secondary Injection (electromechanical and solid state relays) and VT primary injection.
* Experience with control circuit wiring testing, modification, and mechanical/electrical function testing of 415 V – 33 kV switchboards & networks.
