Main duties of the job
It's been an exciting time at Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust as we continue our journey of "Being our Best", and our mission to provide world‑class patient care.
The post holder will support the Claims Manager - Claims to plan and deliver robust systems and processes for ensuring that all Claims are effectively managed to minimise their financial impact, and to ensure that remedial action contributing to the reduction of clinical and financial risks. The post holder will manage their own caseload and be proactive and dynamic in ensuring that lessons from Claims are learned and shared widely, and that they contribute to continuous service improvement and the highest standards of patient care.
Support and update the Claims Manager - Claims in the day to day management of Clinical Negligence, Personal Injury Claims, RTC and Inquests to ensure that claims are managed in accordance with Health Board's policies, and in accordance with Welsh Office Circular Welsh Health Circular (97) 17 and the Civil Procedure Rules.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Education / Qualifications
* Knowledge of a range of complex internal processes to a degree level equivalent
* Demonstrate commitment to supporting the development of effective solutions and improvement.
Experience
* Significant experience of working within the NHS
* Experience of dealing with complex issues in a large organisation
* Multi-professional partnership working
Knowledge
* Detailed understanding of the health service and clear understanding of the concept and working arrangements of diverse clinical areas
* Clear understanding of the concept of evidence based practice and clinical effectiveness
* Knowledge and experience of the administration and use of the Datix system
* Expert knowledge of relevant literature, research, and legislation relating to Claims Management
