The Role
Our international client, based in The Greater Glasgow Area (North), is recruiting an Engineering Manager. Role responsibilities include identifying business improvements in areas such as quality, safety, cost and delivery; initiating and fully supporting corrective actions and improvements by utilising a formal problem-solving approach; evaluating and identifying areas for improvements in relation to manufacturing processes and workflows; working alongside other key stakeholders, strive to minimise waste, engage in change management and support daily production activities.
Professional skills / experience
• Manufacturing experience with knowledge of quality/production methods, lean methodologies and project management skills.
• Mechanical systems assembly. You must be an experienced user of CAD and ideally also Creo/3D CAD.
• Continuous Improvement projects and activities, preferably green belt or above.
• NPI. PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) experience + project management skills.
• Mechatronics/electrical/electronic experience advantageous.
• Good IT skills/Microsoft packages, particularly Excel. Experience of simulation software for process flow/capacity modelling an advantage.
• Experience of working on diesel engines or in heavy engineering would be preferred, but is not essential.
Education / Qualifications
• BSc in Engineering discipline - Mech. Engineering/Manufacturing Systems/Quality/Mechatronics
