Responsibilities
* Work as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in a busy department providing a full range of clinical and diagnostic services to NHS Tayside and North‑East Fife.
* Support professional scientific staff in delivering analytical services.
* Carry out general laboratory duties and assist with the preparation and receipt of patient samples for analysis.
* Rotate through Core Automation, including pre‑analytical areas and specialist sections.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Previous experience and employment in a hospital environment is desirable.
* Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, flexibility and enthusiasm to train further.
* Availability to work public holidays and weekends.
* Must achieve the mandatory induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.
* Must comply with the Code of Conduct throughout employment.
Employment Terms
* Hours: 36 per week core hours rostered between 08:00‑20:00, plus weekends and public holidays on a shared roster and may be required to work out‑of‑hours sessions.
* Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 months.
* Current NHS Tayside employees must seek written approval from line manager prior to applying.
