Engineering Manager (Aerospace & Defence Projects)\n\nLocation: Near Uxbridge, Middlesex\nSalary: Up to £80k\nHours: 39 p/w, Monday to Thursday 8am–5pm, Friday 8am–12pm\n\n Are you an experienced engineering leader with a background in aerospace, defence, or complex systems engineering?\n\n We’re seeking a hands-on and people-focused Engineering Manager to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team working on high-integrity aerospace systems. Based near Uxbridge, this is a strategic leadership position within a world-renowned engineering organisation that plays a vital role in protecting lives.\n\n You’ll be responsible for overseeing project delivery, engineering capability, and functional performance—ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the highest technical and compliance standards.\n\n What’s On Offer:\n\nExcellent salary based on experience\n\n9% non-contributory pension scheme\n\nLife assurance (4x salary)\n\n25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays (with option to buy more)\n\nHealthcare Cash Plan & Cycle to Work Scheme\n\nHalf-day Fridays\n\nHybrid working available (after 6 months)\n\nPersonalised career development and CPD opportunities\n\nEngineering Manager Responsibilities:\n\nLead, mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers across multiple disciplines\n\nDrive resource planning, project prioritisation, and skills development\n\nCollaborate with programme management to deliver engineering projects to schedule and spec\n\nChampion continuous improvement across engineering tools, processes and quality standards\n\nSupport design reviews, risk management, and stakeholder engagement across all project phases\n\nOversee functional training needs, budgets and capability development strategies\n\nMaintain and develop infrastructure owned by the function (labs, test areas, workshops, etc.)\n\nEngineering Manager Profile:\n\nDegree qualified in Engineering, Physics, Maths, or a similar STEM field\n\nChartered status with a recognised professional institution (e.g. IMechE, IET, RAeS)\n\nProven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams\n\nStrong background in systems or mechanical engineering, ideally in aerospace or defence\n\nExperience across the full engineering lifecycle, including design reviews and compliance\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nComfortable working in dynamic, multi-project environments with complex challenges\n\nFamiliar with engineering standards and practices (e.g.
