Assistant Catering Manager - Secondary School
Location: Wirral
Contract: Term Time Only
Hours: Full Time (Monday-Friday)
Salary: £15.50-£18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Assistant Catering Manager to join the catering team at a welcoming secondary school on the Wirral.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with catering and supervisory experience who is passionate about delivering high-quality food services within an educational environment. The successful candidate will support the Catering Manager in the day-to-day operation of the school's catering provision, ensuring excellent food quality, customer service, and compliance with food safety regulations.
Main Purpose of the Role:
To support the Catering Manager in the effective management of the school's catering service, ensuring the delivery of nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and customer service.
Key Requirements:
Previous experience within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
Experience supervising or leading a team
Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 3 desirable)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Understanding of food safety and health & safety regulations
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenKey Responsibilities:
Support the Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the kitchen and dining facilities
Assist with menu planning, food preparation, and service delivery
Supervise catering staff and allocate duties as required
Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer service
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock control
Maintain accurate records relating to food safety and hygiene
Ensure compliance with all food safety, health and safety, and safeguarding procedures
Assist with training and supporting catering team members
