Street Cleaning Operative – Amey – Sheffield, UK (Olive Grove Depot, S2 3GE).
About the Role
We are seeking a permanent Street Cleaning Operative to join our team in Sheffield. The position is part‑time, 20 hours per week, with a shift pattern that will be discussed during the interview. The successful candidate will be responsible for all street cleaning tasks, including scheduled and reactive work, litter bin emptying, fly‑tip removal, graffiti removal, and litter bin installation.
Responsibilities
* Undertake all aspects of street cleaning, including scheduled and reactive works, litter bin emptying, fly tip removal, graffiti removal, and litter bin installation.
* Perform all cleaning duties safely and to a high standard, in line with Amey’s values, and assist in providing a 7‑day service which may include weekends and bank holidays.
* Drive or operate necessary vehicles and equipment, complete safety checks, carry out maintenance, and report defects as required.
* Report and record the status of street cleaning tasks using handheld electronic devices, and liaise with the public, team members, managers, and sub‑contractors professionally.
* Attend project and work briefings, take responsibility for the safety of team members and the public, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
* Assist with other contract areas such as winter and grounds maintenance, and undertake other tasks as required.
Qualifications
* Experience in roads and/or street works.
* A full UK driving licence (essential).
