Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and will be proficient in accounting software Xero. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation.
Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate financial records.
* Prepare and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
* Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash balances.
* Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting.
* Prepare journal entries and assist with month-end closing processes.
* Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements and budget analyses.
* Analyse accounts for discrepancies and perform account reconciliation.
* Assist with payroll processing and tax-related tasks as needed.
* Ensure compliance with corporate, non-profit, or governmental accounting standards as applicable.
* Utilise financial software to streamline bookkeeping processes and improve efficiency.
Experience
* Proficiency in accounting software Xero is required.
* Strong understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, account analysis, budgeting, and technical accounting.
* Familiarity with balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and payroll functions is essential.
* Excellent organisational skills with a keen attention to detail.
