As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will play a key role in the design and development of bespoke conveyor and automation systems for both automotive production and modern retail distribution environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and develop mechanical systems for conveyor and materials handling applications, from concept through to final design release
* Create detailed 3D models, layouts, and production drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or AutoCAD)
* Prepare technical documentation, including BOMs, specifications, and assembly drawings
* Collaborate with project teams to develop Functional Design Specifications and ensure alignment with client requirements
* Provide engineering support during manufacture, installation, and commissioning
* Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety regulations, and customer specifications
* Contribute to continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives within the design process
Experience Required:
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Demonstrable experience in the design of conveyor systems or automation equipment
* Familiarity with applications in automotive production or intralogistics / retail distribution environments
* Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
* Good understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing methods
