Salary
£40,000 per annum
What you’ll be doing:
1. Leading & Developing Teams – Manage, mentor, and support frontline colleagues, fostering and building an inclusive and respectful work environment where all team members are appreciated and recognised for themselves and what they bring to the table.
2. Performance Management – Overseeing driver performance and implementing development plans to enhance individual and team productivity.
3. Coaching & Training – Working with the training function to ensure all team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
4. Employee Relations – Handling absence management, grievances, and disciplinary procedures in a fair and supportive manner.
5. Collaboration & Communication – Fostering strong relationships between drivers, managers, and key stakeholders to create a seamless customer experience.
6. Operational Leadership – Ensuring service reliability and efficiency by managing daily depot operations and proactively addressing challenges.
7. External Stakeholder Management – Liaising with local authorities, the media and other outside bodies to maximise business opportunities and promote positive public relations.
8. Safety - We never compromise on safety. You will actively promote high standards and ensure everyone goes home safely. We take collective responsibility for safety and don't walk by when standards aren't met.
What you'll bring:
9. Previous management or supervisory experience (within the bus/transport industry preferred, but not essential).
10. Excellent computer skills
11. Professional knowledge of Road Traffic Act and Employment legislation
12. Ability to lead and inspire people to seek and follow operational best practice.
13. Knowledge of employment legislation
14. Excellent planning and prioritising skills
15. Self-motivated with a positive approach to change
16. Excellent customer focus
