Mould Repair Engineer- Temporary

Role description
Repair and maintain glass bottle mould equipment to specifications to ensure that mould equipment meets production requirements.
Responsibilities:
1. Comply with Company Health and Safety Procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and those around you
2. Follow the departments working procedures and practices
3. Repair damaged and worn mould equipment to a high standard using various engineering techniques such as spray welding, polishing, grinding, filing and machining
4. Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure the repaired equipment meet the required specification
5. Modify mould equipment to maintain quality standards.
6. Carry out checks on mould equipment using visual and precision measuring techniques to ensure that specifications are complied with
7. Record daily work carried out on job sheets to provide an accurate reference point
8. Monitor housekeeping in accordance with Company Hygiene Rules
Required skills / qualifications:
9. Time served apprenticeship with a formal engineering qualification
10. Experience working in a manufacturing environment
11. Good knowledge of bench fitting techniques such as, drilling, filing, polishing and grinding etc
12. Have a flexible working approach
13. Experience with working with metals, such as Steel, Cast Iron and Nickle
14. Be able to read and understand engineering drawings
15. Competent with the use of precision measuring equipment – such as micrometres
16. Competent with the use of hand tools – such as air tools, files and grinders
17. Good communication and problem-solving skills
18. CNC turning experience desirable
19. Manual machine work (lathes/millers) desirable
20. Good attitude towards teamwork and learning
What we offer
21. Salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonised pay scales. Salary min £33,000 - £37,068,806 max. (dependant on shift)
