We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our ReadyMix team at Tarmac Birtley in Co Durham. This role is a regional position covering the North East & Yorkshire markets.

Responsibilities
* Report to the Commercial Manager and establish relationships with external customers to maintain price, volume and profit for the business across the customer portfolio.
* Manage and grow a portfolio of customers.
* Play a proactive role in increasing the Value Added Product (VAP) solution sales across the product range for the area, and provide on-site support to oversee successful application of all products.
* Engage with external sales teams to identify new or existing business opportunities using in-depth technical knowledge on conventional and specialised products.
* Manage commercial negotiations and take decisions with calculated risks to enhance or gain commercial advantage.
* Establish new and expand existing relationships with key customers, setting ambitious targets.
* Ensure products sold are fit for purpose and aligned to customer needs to minimise complaints and service issues.
* Aim to achieve maximum selling price through commercial acumen supported by CE tools during negotiations.
* Use upsell techniques to increase VAP sales and devise marketing plans for our VAP offering to customers/sectors to drive optimum commercial success.
* During commercial negotiations, link products to the achievement of the customer’s objectives and develop solutions with a strong position in deal negotiation to close business.
* Keep up to date on technical standards and regulations and communicate changes to the team and wider business.
* Ensure KPIs set by the Area Commercial Manager are achieved (e.g., customer visits, output calls, volume & value information).
* Work closely with the external team to expand their technical knowledge for competitive advantage in the market.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across the business, including General Managers, Commercial Managers, Site Teams, Accounts, Technical, Customers and Suppliers.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
* Experience: Demonstration of managing and developing customer accounts.
* Commercial understanding of our business within the sector.
* Ability to work cross-functionally to deliver customer requirements.
* Be able to utilise commercial tools in daily activities.
* Skills / Knowledge: Understanding of the regional market and the competitive landscape; high drive and determination to succeed; ability to identify customer needs and build solutions with comprehensive product knowledge.
