Base pay range
Competitive starting salary range from £46,115.00 to £52,597.00 per annum, dependent upon experience, with a potential discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience. The role is permanent, full time.
The Role
As an Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Occupational Therapy you will undertake teaching and course co‑ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, direct entry, and apprenticeship programmes. You will lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams and embedding relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context in modules.
* Course coordination as appropriate to the role.
* Leading the curation, adaptation, design, and development of module and course teaching materials and contributing to ongoing curriculum development.
* Teaching on modules and courses at Higher Education levels 4‑7, and leading teams of teaching staff.
* Leading moderation and quality assurance of appropriate module assessment.
Qualifications Required
* Occupational therapist with current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or a good Honours degree and appropriate professional qualification and membership.
* A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education.

* Demonstrable experience of successful teaching at Higher Education levels 4‑7 in Occupational Therapy with best practice in teaching, learning and assessment.
* Experienced team leader with digital fluency and experience creating teaching materials for face‑to‑face and online teaching using a Virtual Learning Environment.
* Experience in developing an active learning pedagogy appropriate to the subject area.
* High levels of cultural awareness and ability to communicate with diverse learners.
* Innovation and collaboration skills, flexibility and willingness to engage in flexible ways of working.
