The role
As a Mechanical and Electrical Building Surveyor, you’ll have an exciting opportunity to make a tangible impact on national security while advancing your career in a dynamic and growing sector.
Day-to-day, you’ll provide a vital building services asset surveying service to our customers, including the Ministry of Defence and Babcock Plant Managers, under the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) contract. Your work will determine asset condition, ensure statutory compliance, and identify essential works to maintain operational readiness.
1. Conducting building services asset surveys across a variety of building types
2. Producing detailed technical reports and specifications for customers
3. Assessing asset condition and recommending works for compliance and maintenance
4. Interrogating technical information for KPI reporting
5. Creating technical drawings and supporting regulatory compliance
This role is full time 37. hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Mechanical and Electrical Building Surveyor
6. Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong self-motivation
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
8. In-depth understanding of building services and regulations
9. Experience producing technical reports and specifications
10. Knowledge of compliance standards and ability to produce technical drawings
Qualifications for the Mechanical and Electrical Building Surveyor
11. Degree or HND in Building Services or similar - Desirable
12. Membership of a relevant professional institute - Desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
