Job Title: Mechanical InspectorLocation: EastleighHourly Rate: £17.86 per hour PAYE / £23.83 per hour umbrellaThe RoleWere looking for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a growing engineering/manufacturing business. This role is focused on ensuring all components and assemblies meet required specifications and quality standards before release to production or customer. Youll play a key part in maintaining product integrity, working closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams.Key responsibilities for the Mechanical Inspector:Inspect mechanical components and assemblies against engineering drawings and specificationsCarry out dimensional checks using equipment such as verniers, micrometers, and gaugesPerform incoming, in-process, and final inspection to ensure quality standards are metRaise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and support root cause investigationsReview and verify quality documentation including certificates, FAIRs, and inspection reportsWork closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality issuesEnsure compliance with ISO9001 and/or industry-specific standardsMaintain accurate inspection records and quality documentationThe successful Mechanical Inspector will have the below skills & experience:Proven experience in a quality inspection role within a mechanical manufacturing environmentStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specificationsHands-on experience using measurement equipment (e.g.
