We're looking for someone to join our alternative provision school in Gloucester, supporting pupils aged 11-16 who've had a tough time in mainstream education. This role goes beyond the classroom: it's about helping young people build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.
Our school provides a safe and inclusive environment for learners with SEMH needs, EHCPs, and complex backgrounds, including experiences of trauma, social challenges, and unmet special needs. We re-engage students through creative projects, sport, and the arts, giving them the chance to thrive both emotionally and academically.
As a Youth Mental Health Support Worker, you'll act as a positive role model and mentor, help pupils develop emotional regulation and social skills, and work closely with teachers and support staff to put tailored strategies in place. You'll also take part in outreach activities and off-site learning, providing consistent, hands-on support across our sites.
We're looking for someone with experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEN needs, whether in schools, youth work, sports coaching, therapy, or mentoring. You'll need resilience, empathy, and the ability to build trust with young people who may have experienced trauma or exclusion.
