Main duties of the job
As a Data Governance Administrative Volunteer, you'll help log and track information and access requests, support document management, and assist with maintaining the microfiche library. You'll work closely with the Data Governance team to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy. This role suits someone who is organised, IT‑literate, and able to work independently.
Flexible working
This role offers flexibility with one consistent weekday (Monday to Friday) each week, and the option to work remotely from home as well as at Tolworth Hospital when confident to do so. Volunteers must undergo reference and ID checks and complete mandatory training before starting the role. Interviews are due to take place November 2025.

About our location
Tolworth Hospital, Surbiton
Tolworth is undergoing a major transformation to create modern facilities for five new wards, a central plaza, and a caf. It is close to the A3, Tolworth station, and a short bus ride from Surbiton station, with fast connections to Clapham Junction and London Waterloo.
Job responsibilities
As a Data Governance Administrative Volunteer, you’ll support the Trust’s commitment to data protection and transparency by helping log, track, and respond to information requests.
You’ll assist with document management, maintain internal systems, and collaborate with the Data Governance team to ensure compliance with policies.
This role requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a supportive environment.
All public‑facing roles require a proportionate level of English language proficiency for written and verbal communication. The Trust is required to verify the results of certain English‑language competency tests. When the fluency duty is met by the provision of a sign‑language interpreter, the interpreter should be registered with the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD).
