This is a 12-week temporary assignment to support ongoing service delivery during a recruitment period. What You’ll Do: Deliver high-quality assessments, care planning, and direct interventions for children and families in need, in need of protection, or who are looked after. Develop outcome-focused, creative plans tailored to each family’s circumstances. Work closely with partner agencies and professionals to ensure holistic, multi-agency support. Manage a varied caseload effectively while maintaining accurate and timely case records. Engage with families in the Sandfields, Aberavon, and Baglan areas to help them achieve sustainable positive outcomes. Contribute to a service culture that promotes learning, professional growth, and innovation in practice. What We’re Looking For: A qualified Social Worker (Degree or Diploma in Social Work). Registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent). Solid understanding of childcare legislation, safeguarding processes, and evidence-based social work practice. Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills. Experience working with children and families under Care & Support or Child Protection plans. A full UK Category B driving licence and business-use insurance, with the ability to travel across the borough. Flexibility to work outside standard office hours when required. Essential Requirements: Eligibility to work in the UK. Up-to-date CV. Criminal Convictions Declaration. Signed Confidentiality Agreement. Enhanced DBS check (current or within 12 months).
