What You’ll Do at Elekta
We’re looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to help drive innovation in our Radiation Therapy Treatment systems. You’ll be developing cutting‑edge workflow, delivery, and imaging software for medical devices—working within a safety‑critical environment where software quality is paramount and embedded into our CI/CD pipelines. Guided by system architecture and technical leadership, you’ll collaborate in agile teams to deliver impactful solutions that improve patient outcomes worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Define, design, develop and maintain application components, services and APIs on the Elekta Domain‑based service‑oriented platform, hosted on containers.
* Full stack development from web and desktop‑based UI development down to messaging and storage solutions.
* Maintain and enhance software‑quality metrics including test coverage and code maintainability through code walkthroughs and attention to detail, ensuring the code and the system is well tested and of sufficient quality for full solution testing.
* Create, review and maintain tests at all levels of the V Model, including unit, component and potentially automated and manual system tests.
* Ensure that all products are developed in accordance with the applicable published development process and documentation is created in line with this.
* Contribute as needed to enhance our CI/CD pipeline and test automation environments, enabling fast and effective delivery and deployment.
* Work as part of a scrum team to not only deliver your own tasks but assist others where priorities require it, or impediments exist.
* Be aware of the safety lifecycle; participate in safety analysis, raise safety issues and contribute to creation of traceable hazard mitigation.
* Define and review requirements, apply architectural guidance and provide input into architectural definition.
* Lead the technical direction of product development across teams.
What You’ll Bring
* Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
* Full stack development using the .NET platform (C#, .NET Core).
* Front end experience with Angular.
* Object‑Oriented design expertise.
* Knowledge and understanding of software engineering disciplines, practices, and techniques.
* Understanding and experience of the overall SDLC for application development.
* Experience with CI/CD.
* Understanding and experience of Agile.
* Experience with SAFe methodologies.
* Previous experience in medical devices or other regulated/safety‑critical areas.
* Back end skills: microservices, REST APIs, SQL, RabbitMQ.
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes.
* Experience with VMware.
* Experience with Azure DevOps.
* Experience with Domain‑Driven Design practices.
* Knowledge of asynchronous programming and event‑driven systems using message queues.
