Overview
Mental Health Rotational Occupational Therapist. We are currently recruiting for Occupational Therapists to join an established mental health rotation across multiple sites in Leeds and York.
Responsibilities
* Utilise core occupational therapy skills to provide intervention appropriate to the team and setting.
* Be responsible and accountable for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of intervention for defined service users, both individually and in groups.
* Apply knowledge of OT processes, theoretical frameworks and assessment tools; use activities to promote health, wellbeing and function; plan, organise and lead activity groups; and analyse and adapt environments to increase function and social participation.
* Maintain accredited qualification in occupational therapy and HCPC registration, and keep up to date with RCOT and HCPC standards.
* Conduct appropriate risk assessments and maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards.
* Engage in professional support structures (clinical supervision, preceptorship, CPD) and participate in supervision/appraisal.
* Establish consent and collaborative relationships with service users, adapting to barriers in communication as needed.
* Coordinate and communicate care packages or treatment plans with service users, carers and other agencies via meetings, reports and documentation.
* Contribute to day-to-day running of the base team; delegate safely and seek support to address gaps in competencies.
* Comply with Trust Health & Safety policies and safe working procedures; report incidents using the Trust risk incident reporting system.
* Act in accordance with Trust values and be prepared to travel between sites and to service user homes; some rotations may involve shifts across seven days.
* Rotation may require moving to a different rotation or staying longer than 9 months depending on service demands and development needs.
Qualifications
* Accredited qualification in Occupational Therapy (Degree/Diploma) and HCPC registration.
* Demonstrated understanding of the needs of service users with mental health problems.
Requirements
UK registration in good standing is required. Visa sponsorship is available only for eligible registered healthcare practitioners as per Trust requirements.
