People Advisor – Band 5, 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a People Advisor to join our dynamic People Operations Team.
Position Summary
* Deliver an efficient, high‑performance HR service, providing policy advice and guidance to managers.
* Support workforce KPI targets through proactive compliance and risk‑based advice.
* Handle complex employee relations, investigations, disciplinary and appeal hearings.
* Present confidently, develop and deliver training on absence, performance, appraisals and HR policies.
Main Duties
* Own a varied caseload, support organisational change and manage competing demands.
* Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of UK employment law, updating policies and job evaluation as legislation changes.
* Communicate with clarity, both verbally and written, delivering outstanding HR service.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Live membership of CIPD or working towards it.
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of HR legal framework.
* Exposure to absence, performance, grievance, disciplinary, and change management.
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Generalist HR experience in a busy environment.
Des:
* Degree or equivalent management qualification.
* HR knowledge gained through relevant training and experience.
* Experience delivering management training and presentations.
Additional Information
The role requires Disclosure and Barring Service checks and a current UK professional registration. Skilled worker sponsorship may be considered.
