We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person to join our team as a Recovery Champion. You will work as part of the Duty Team within a multi-disciplinary setting with individuals affected by substance misuse and the people who care for them, including family members and friends. Location: Hull. Hours: 37.5 per week. Salary: £25,077.00. Please note: Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week; for part-time roles, salary and payments are pro rata based on contracted hours.
Responsibilities
* Provide a welcoming and consistent environment in the open access area.
* Create links with local communities and work to engage people affected by drugs and alcohol who are not in touch with mainstream services.
* Attend team meetings and group supervision to share good practice and discuss solutions.
* Meet individuals within the community to discuss personal recovery goals and support families affected by drugs and alcohol with their goals and needs.
* Utilise existing local resources and build local community awareness, signposting to relevant agencies.
* Assist the Volunteer and Peer Mentor Coordinator in setting up and identifying specialist advice, support and recovery opportunities.
Qualifications
* Lived experience of drug and/or alcohol misuse.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills.
* Ability to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs while remaining empathetic and non-judgemental toward service users.
* Confident in working both independently and as part of a team.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Able to travel as required, including where public transport is not available.
