Student Health Visitor

Our 0‑5 Service brings together health visitors and a skilled multidisciplinary team to deliver the Healthy Child Programme and improve public health outcomes.
We are pleased to offer sponsorship opportunities for highly motivated, qualified nurses wishing to undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health and Specialist Community Nursing (Health Visiting). Applicants must be registered with the NMC as a nurse or midwife in any field of practice.
Applicants should hold a minimum 2:2 honours degree in a relevant subject. Experienced clinicians without a degree may be considered if they can demonstrate recent Level 7 study completed within the past five years.

Main Duties of the job
The post holder will undertake the required study with the affiliated university, achieving outcomes in both practice and university‑based learning. They will work within the community setting, facilitated by the practice assessor/supervisor.
The post holder is expected to work towards gaining the standards of proficiency for entry to the NMC register/recordable for Specialist Community Practitioner.
The program includes a 50% academic component and a 50% practical placement within community settings across Hackney and the City of London.
Knowledge and skills are required to exercise higher levels of judgement, discretion and decision making in clinical care, focusing on the following areas:

Education / Qualifications
* Applicants must have a second‑class honours (2:2) or higher classification degree in a relevant subject from an approved higher education institution.
* Clinically experienced health professionals without a degree who have evidence of master’s level CPPD (Level 7) study undertaken within the last five years will also be considered.
