The Foundation Department offers a flexible learning environment for students starting out on Level 1 Land-based Studies, focusing on personal development to support progression into further academic study, Supported Internships or employment. The team supports students with a range of needs and helps them develop the skills, confidence and experience to progress into further study or employment.
About the role
This is a rewarding opportunity to lead and deliver Entry Level and Level 1 Agriculture and Level 1 Land-based Studies programmes, supporting learners with a range of abilities and needs. Pathways include Agriculture, Animal Care and Equine. You would join a team with diverse knowledge and experience to inspire the next generation of farmers, zookeepers and grooms. You will coordinate and manage courses, predominantly in the Agriculture pathway, delivering engaging and inclusive practical and theory sessions. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders you will ensure learners receive a high-quality experience and realistic progression opportunities.
Key responsibilities
* Plan and deliver curriculum content to a consistently good/outstanding level.
* Lead practical and theoretical sessions that exceed industry expectations.
* Conduct vocational assessments in line with awarding body and college standards.
* Provide course management and pastoral support for Level 1 Agriculture groups.
* Build relationships with schools, employers and stakeholders to enhance reputation and learner outcomes.
The successful candidate will
* Hold a relevant degree or Level 3 qualification in Agriculture or other land-based subject.
* Have or be willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
* Demonstrate experience working in a land-based setting and with SEND learners.
* Be confident in using IT systems and digital tools to support teaching and assessment.
* Show strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.

Industry professionals joining the College in an academic role will complete their Further Education Training whilst in post.
