Test Data Lead
Location: Croydon (Mostly work from home)

Due to the industries we work in, we require the successful candidate to be able to obtain high level security clearance. To qualify for this, you must be a British citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the last 5 years.
About the Role
We are seeking a Test Data Lead to ensure the quality, consistency, and reliability of high volume operational datasets used in critical national systems. This role plays a key part in validating that data is transformed correctly from multiple external sources into a common format, enabling accurate decision making. You will act as the link between business requirements and technical data delivery, ensuring test conditions are thoroughly understood and fully supported.
Key Responsibilities
* Own and lead test data planning, preparation, and execution for complex, large datasets
* Validate data transformations against business rules and interface control documents (ICDs)
* Develop and manage repeatable data load processes, often requiring multiple cycles to achieve accuracy
* Perform data quality checks, cleansing validation, and mapping verification
* Collaborate closely with Test Engineers and Business Analysts to ensure full test coverage
* Support realistic scenario-based testing where individuals, records or events must be accurately matched and processed
* Provide clear documentation and control of test data assets and changes
Skills & Experience
Required:
* Extensive experience in test data, large data environments, or similar technically focused roles
* Strong understanding of data transformation, cleansing, and data quality principles
* Structured, logical and detail-oriented approach to problem solving
* Confidence working with large, structured files and different data formats
* Ability to interpret and apply ICDs, mappings, and rule sets
* No hands-on coding required, but a solid grasp of technical data processes is essential
Preferred
* Knowledge of API testing, Jira, Confluence
* Familiarity with performance or security testing concepts.
* Experience/understanding with Java, Selenium, AWS, Jenkins
