The post is one of 3 Practice Governance Lead positions within Operational Services, offering strategic leadership to support effective systems that deliver optimal outcomes for service users, staff, and the public. The post holder collaborates closely with the Practice Governance Support Team (PGST) to ensure the delivery of the practice governance agenda and may line manage other team members.
Each Practice Governance Lead supports specific service streams, which may vary over time, and takes on wider leadership roles across services based on expertise. The role involves providing leadership on practice governance matters, informing staff about governance principles, and coordinating the development of a practice governance agenda, including research, clinical audits, care pathways, incident management, supervision, education, complaints, and risk management.
The post also requires proactively fostering a culture of continuous practice improvement and ensuring effective investigation of incidents with shared learning across the division.
